As 2025 comes to a close, Canurta is proud to share the milestones that shaped a year of significant scientific and strategic advancement.
From regulatory meetings to research breakthroughs and platform development, our progress reflects a deepening commitment to unlocking the therapeutic potential of small molecules.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Alignment
Canurta signed a Definitive Agreement with PharmaDrug Inc. (CSE: PHRX.CN), formalizing the acquisition of up to 40% of Canurta as part of a structured path to access public markets. The initial closing is now underway, advancing our capital and commercialization strategy.
In parallel, Canurta continues internal diligence on an extraction acquisition target under review. This effort supports scalable manufacturing and enhances downstream control over Canurta’s clinical pipeline.
The company also entered a new international supply and research agreement in Brazil, broadening global reach and aligning with future clinical scaling efforts.

Discovery Platform Expansion
Canurta made key advancements to its Polykye discovery platform, integrating autonomous agent capabilities that independently propose, test, and refine new therapeutic concepts. These upgrades support a more scalable, efficient approach to identifying novel small molecules across complex disease targets.
In addition, new engineered prenylation strategies are in development to improve therapeutic stability and potency, broadening the chemical space of nature’s rarest small molecules.

Published Research & Scientific Milestones
Canurta’s international patent application (PCT/CA2025/050402) was officially published under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, covering novel polyphenol-based therapeutic compositions and methods.
New scientific findings were published in 2025, including:
Transcriptomic Analysis of a Cannabis-Derived Neuroprotective Therapy in a Zebrafish Model of ALS
Cannflavin B Ameliorates Social and Anxiety Deficits and Neuronal Systems Dysfunction in Adolescent Rats Exposed to Prenatal Valproic Acid
Canurta also showcased its work at ENCALS 2025 and ALS/MND 2025, sharing early-stage data with leading researchers and clinicians in the ALS space.

Visibility & Venture Acceleration
Canurta graduated from the Creative Destruction Lab’s (CDL) Neuro stream, joining a global cohort of companies advancing breakthroughs in brain science to improve human health and quality of life.
To expand visibility and thought leadership, Canurta engaged in high-profile discussions including the G7 Canada Brain Health Summit, the Black Blockchain Summit, and an appearance on the CanadianSME Podcast to explore innovative biotech funding strategies and the future of financial resilience in health R&D.
