Advancing Research of Understudies Second Metabolite Compounds
University of Alberta researchers, backed by Canurta, have gained new insights into the activity, pharmacokinetics, metabolism & permeability of cannabis stilbenes.
The analysis uncovers therapeutic benefits including anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-cancer, and antioxidant effects. Many of the identified stilbenes have been researched to a limited extent for potential health benefits.
10 out of the 14 stilbenes are predicted to have high blood-brain barrier permeability, suggesting their potential to act on the central nervous system. These predictions can guide future in vitro and in vivo research on stilbene interactions and help in the development of effective pharmaceutical formulations.
