Updated: Mar 14
Introduction
Before we explore what hemp seed oils do, let’s go over how they originated. Hempseed oil is made from hemp plant seeds and stands out for their strong and nutty flavours. They give off that plant vibe a lot compared to numerous other types of oils.

Hemp seed oil traits
Hemp seeds, which make hemp seed oil, have arganines, B vitamins, calcium, gamma linoenic acid, iron, magnesium and Omega-3 fatty acids. Linoleic acid (50 to 70%) is the primary fatty acid in hemp seed oil. Also, hemp seed oil has many health benefits because of these fatty acids.
A 2011 study indicates consuming omega-3s in hemp seed oil can not only reduce inflammation, but also limited anxiety in medical students who participated in the study.
In addition, hemp seed oil can also do the following:
Improve skin quality
Lower blood pressure
Ensure better heart health
Boost immune system
Help one lose weight
Slow down aging decline

Hemp seed oil especially has lots of iron in it and can limit the odds of iron deficiency. A few symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia include breath shortness, dizziness, extreme fatigue and little appetite. If you ever notice you’re tired or dizzy for no apparent reason, it may be that you need more iron and hemp seed oil might do the trick.

A Journal of Dermatological Treatment study from 2005 also indicates that hemp seed oil can limit atopic dermatitis signs and appearance 20 weeks after one start to uses hemp seed oil. There were two eight week periods and a four-week break of using the oil in between the periods.

In addition, hemp seed oil can grow hair at a faster rate, prevent breaking nails, has antifungal properties, can treat minor cracks and cuts, can be used to organically remove makeup and can treat skin pigmentation.

When people consume hemp seed orally, it is most often used for capsules, food and smoothies. Since hemp seed oil doesn’t respond well to heat and light, it is better to use it in cold formulation foods such as dressings. It is also important to know that hemp seed oil’s smoke point is 330°F/165°C.
Hemp seed oil uses for dogs and cats
Hemp seed oil can positively affect dogs and cats in the following ways:
They effectively treat skin and coat health.
Gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) helps them be more energetic, which would prevent them in gaining too much weight
Since hemp seed oil doesn’t have tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), these animals are less vulnerable to psychoactive side effects.
Conclusion
Hemp seed oils can help people lead healthy lifestyles, prevent serious skin issues, or even reduce risks of early death in not only humans, but their pets. The extensive combination of beneficial fatty acids certainly play a large part in making hemp seed oil a beneficial choice.
